Lunapoix’s fashion designer

Magali Voisin, 34 years-old, is self-taught in the creation and couture world: « Perhaps does it come from the fact I cannot draw, I have a direct and very definite connection with materials and clothes.

I am very keen on feeling it, staring at it, smelling it and touching it. Then I fashion it, as a sculptor would do, and sew it. I need an overall picture of the outcome. I like to explore volumes, asymmetries. I am under the impression I give life to the clothes’ soul thanks to my design.

I am specially attracted by natural materials. I like the different aspects that can offer linen or hemp.

Their fibres offer a unique mix of elegance, softness and comfort. On top of that, these materials are very practical: sometimes softly weaved, sometimes flowing, sometimes thick. Irregular structure, with relief or smooth, textures can be open-weave and their creative potential has no limit.

I am very sensitive to stories, to music, which transport me into another world. The same thing happens to my collections: they bring me into an imaginary world. My mind is gripped by a theme, in accordance with a musical one. I need to be transported by this whirl of sensations to move forward. The goal behind it is of course to make women feel this intensive profusion of feelings while they slip into my clothes. I look for this sharing of emotions through my work. »
